They're not trying to improve anything. They're simply moneyhungry. If you notice with any of the sequels, they've tried to twist the story around so it isn't even recognizeable anymore.

I, too, thought Cinderella 3 was dumb to make. The reason Disney Studios keeps making sequels is because they are running out of ideas and whats money.

To apply to the "nag factor." Little 5 and 6 year old princesses with their mommies at Target seeing the video and begging, pleading, demanding it at $20 a pop.

Back when the classics were made, going to the movie theater was a special occasion to see a Disney movie. It wasn't the instant culture of today with DVD's and Disney movies playing all the time.

I agree with you...some classics should be left alone, but the drive for dollars will win out every time in ever economic sector.

I think the basic fact is that they're trying to make more money out of it. The classics were huge and I used to love going to the movies to see them...sequels are known for never being as good as the original and I think it almost cheapens the original in some ways. I prefer the original classics and choose to ignore any sequels because they're no good.

I guess they are doing it because they know they can make money off of them. However, when I was a kid they hadn't come out with all the sequals and so I was left with the philosephy of "and they all lived happily ever after." It was up to my own imagination on what happend afterwards.

I am excited for Shrek 3 though!!!!!!!!

They ran out of good ideas, so they made sequals to all their movies. Now they made sequals to everything, so they have to make trilogies out of them.
Although I liked it, a good example is their last "original" movie, Emperor's New Groove... about a guy who gets turned into a llama... theres a sequal to that too, by the way
