It depends largely on what type of "energy" substance is used in the drink. Caffeine is bad for you on any level, but like most people, I myself drink it. Energy drinks are meant for "emergencies" or as a replacement for morning caffeinated coffee. I personally hate coffee, but then I'm rarely up before noon and have little need for it. If it is a natural energy substance that does not contain caffeine, then it's not as harmful, but if you continue drinking them your sleep patterns could become disturbed. The human mind needs REM sleep and high levels of caffeine can disrupt the body's ability to relax into this needed level of sleep. I took psycology for nearly six years from high school through college and I know pretty well my stuff about what lack of REM sleep can cause. I general break-down can occur, and you may also find yourself becoming more tired from the caffeine than hyped up from it, thus leading you to try other substances to get that "rush" of hyper-activity you once got from caffeine. It's your body and your choice, but I'd seriously consider the possible consequences to your health both mentally and physically.

If they are helping you, then no. If they are making you jittery, then yes.
