I, as a matter of fact, do but I was just wondering exactly how informed people are about it? Please give a reason either way. (And don't be rude!)

Yes... I'm not a user but think Marijuana has gotten a bad rap. It will save us money and police effort in other areas for starters. There are other related crimes that would decrease. Most of all for me it would also be a step in shutting down the drug trade and get the drug cartels out of our country... There should still be restrictions on use by minors just like alcohol.

The fact is that more people are killed each year in alcohol related car crashes and from lung cancer from smoking, than any statistic where marijuana use is listed. However making it legal would cause a number of our law makers to use their time in office coming up with laws to restrict its use, designate lawful distribution, rewrite existing laws to coincide with the legalization process, etc. etc.etc. It would cost more money to make it a legal substance that it does to keep it illegal. Yes there is alot of money to be made from its legalization, but at what over all expense. It would be more accessible to young children, those who don't use would possibly be subjected to the substance itself(as they are now with cigarettes)not to mention people going to work while under the influence. Would you want you heart surgeon to be high when he operated on you? It would drastically cut down the productivity of many companies due to people being sent home for being under the influence. I am not anti marijuana by any means, but what would the benefits truly be? A certain percentage of the population doesn't have to worry about going to jail? It's not like we wouldn't have to pay taxes anymore. For the record i think alcohol should be illegal due to the problems it creates. But that's just one guys opinion.

Yes, for several reasons.

I see marijuana pretty much in the same category as alcohol. Both are considered drugs, yet one is legal and the other isn't. Never have been able to figure that one out.... Both have pretty much the same effects, both wear off after a while, and neither causes permanent harm through OCCASIONAL use.

If the feds were to legalize pot and then let it be mass-produced like cigarettes, they could then tax it just like cigarettes and increase profits for the national treasury. It would also put a lot of small-time dealers out of business.

Maybe one of these days it'll happen, but I don't see it happening in the near future.

Ever wake up feeling really hung over from a night of smoking out? Thought not. Throw in some heavy drinking, though, and you'll awake feeling like death itself (in fact, alcohol poisoning is a real risk). No one overdoses on marijuana because it has a negligible therapeutic ratio; that is, you don't have to use much to get the desired effect. Why then is one drug available from corner stores and allowed to be promoted at bowling tournaments, whereas the other you have to get from a pimply guy with a mullet you knew vaguely in high school, who hands you something dodgy-looking in a sandwich baggie? Quit the hypocrisy and make these intoxicants equally available.

Yes, come on, with all the prescription drugs out their, what is wrong with smoking a little weed! Makes me laugh when you watch on tv all the drug busts they make, and when they find someone growing weed, and make a big deal about it. There are worst things happening in the world. What do all the drugbusters do with that weed, and the money they get from nabbing the dealers?

Not legalized, but decriminalized. If you get caught with any amount, it gets taken away and destroyed. No laws broken, no jail time, no clogging up the system, and no exorbitant amounts of money being wasted to prosecute people from enjoying a little euphoria from a natural herb.

I think all drugs should be legalised and taxed. This would:

1. destroy the illegal criminal cartels by setting up legitimate trade that could be regulated.

2. pay for the cost to the state of looking after addicts.

3. allow our individual freedom to do what we choose with our bodies as consenting adults.

yes because then people wouldn't get in trouble with it i think they should control it just like alcohol have a certain age you have to be to buy it, then the state could stop bitching about money and tax it and, there is a theory that people wont do it as much if it is illlegal like with the alcohol when it got banned

Yes I think it should but I think that it should have restrictions on it the same way that achol or tobacco does. It has been used for medical purposes for a while now. But I do think it should be restricted
