Im really not watching american idol this season because I don't think it is as good as other seasons, but I have caught some episodes and I really want to know why Sanjaya is still there. Can someone please tell me who is voting for him, he should have been gone the first week. He sings like he's telling someone a bedtime story or he's whispering a secret.

Tween girls, that's my theory. They think he's cute cuz of his smile and his hair. It's the same crowd that kept other singers on in past seasons - the young cute shy guy who can't really sing.

Go Sanjaya! And thanks to everyone who voted for him! If we can move him ONE more week into the top 10, he'll go on tour and have to sing a Gwen Stefani song. So we HAVE to vote as much as possible next week. Come on, everyone, this could be the best show ever. Does anyone miss Brandon? Probably not. But now it's obvious that VFTW saved Sanjaya, because he was in the bottom 2 and didn't leave. Had we not voted for him, he would have been gone. Great work, everyone!

I think everyone agrees on this theory -- tween/teen girls are voting for Sanjaya. And maybe his high school mates as well. Well, at least now we know: as long as someone is in the bottom two with Sanjaya, that unlucky person is definitely going home. No surprises there.

The people who are voting for Sanjaya (besides his family) are stuuupid 14 year olds who don't know he's gay and he can't sing. The rest of his voters are simply people who are playing a nasty joke on American Idol. They are voting for the worst person so they can screw up the whole contest. This vote has been the worst voting disaster since Bush ended up in office. As long as the rest of us take time to vote for the talented performers on the show, we can send Sanjaya packing. FORGET ABOUT VOTING FOR THE WORST. Don't cheat talented people out of winning this fair and square. MY votes are going to MELINDA DOOLITTLE. ALSO - HAWAII HAS BEEN GIVING SANJAYA LOTS OF VOTES.

I couldn't agree more. Idol is just like weird this year. I dont think that the top twelve has the charisma that the past years have. As far a sanja is concerned, i think that little twelve year old girls are getting on there phones and voting for him. I thinks hes weird and a little to metro. His hair is gross, and he cant sing @ all. He sings like if her he were in a high school talent show or something. He dosent even compare to the other talent. It just makes me sad that some ppl who should still be there but lost their spots because of some little girls around the us heart throb. Have a nice day:-) and thank you for such a good question.

people are voting for sanjaya just like they were voting for the lispy kid last season. Even Howard Stern was advocating voting for Sanjaya to throw a wrench in the music machines gears
I am so sick of paula this year. Is she drunk or something? She just slurs and tells everyone they are gorgeous...ugh You cannot be everyones friend. They need to re-vamp the show including the judges. I tivo it and just listen to the performances.
Ryan seacrest is annoying this year too.

Sanjaya is there to bring humor to the show, that's all. He's causing a lot of discussion which boosts the ratings so he actually has a purpose, it's just not his singing.................it's his hair, man!!! This was my first year watching from the beginning and I haven't been impressed iether. Sorry guys, but the girls are rocking this year! I'm rooting for Melinda, Lakeisha and Gina

I agree. My distaste for Sanjaya's singing is great, however, you gotta love his hair. I wouldn't vote for him based on his hair but I would say that might get him a few votes. I was really sad that they got rid of Brandon instead of him. I wanted it to be the other way around.

actually i heard on the radio yesterday that howard stern is trying to get all his fans to vote for the worst singer to mess with american idol, heck we all know that antonella could not sing a note in tune but she stayed in as long as she did, i mean she really sucked.. but not only that there is a web site votefortheworst.com that is incouraging people to vote for the worst singer to mess with the votes.. it really sucks but that is reality

I totally agree! I think it is just a bunch of VERY young girls voting..not voting for talent, although he isn't even good looking either!! Hope he is gone next week...I can't stomach another performance!!!!
