Yes, there is a possiblility for induction here. But you're technically at the full term mark, so no worries there. I was induced with BP issues too, but mine was at 170/123, so I was at a major danger level. What is your BP?
You need to rest, lay down as much as possible. Preferably on your left side. If you start to experience spots in your vision, get a headache or dizziness, call your OB ASAP!

Been there, done that, twice! Lay on your left side and drink lots of water. Stay away from salt all together. Your will probably be induced. Which at this point is OK, the baby is old enough, you are considered full term.
When you are being induced, the hospital might put you on magnesium, which is not a pleasant experience but it is in yours and the babies best interest. If you don't feel your doctor is concerned enough (I would be with a BP that high) find a high risk doctor ASAP and get a second opinion. Good luck.

well looks like we are in the same boat! I am 37 weeks I went yesterday and my bp was 150/98 and I'm being induced tomorrow. They tested me for the same thing through ultrasound and I dont have that or anything but my blood pressure was high 4 times in a row. I dont know how uncomfortable you are but I was just going through a rough week or two with sleeping and everything. And I asked about inducing and here I am waiting for tomorrow morning at 730 am. so just take care of yourself. And it is a major concern because any stress on your body is stress on your child. But if you continuously have high blood pressure then you he will more than likely talk with you about inducing!!!! good luck and I hope everything goes well for you!

Probably take u off work, if your not already or non working at the moment. Medications may be able to control it as well.
The way I was told, is that pre eclampsia can cause possible strokes during delivery, so a c-section may be best to keep your blood pressure from getting too high during birth.
Dont worry, they are very well equipped to handle this type of thing because its very common. U will be fine.
But a c-section will probably have to be done if meds cannot control it.
Good luck and congrats!

At 38 wks the baby is considered full term and if you need to be induced you will be fine. I was induced 19 days before my due date on my 1st child due to preeclampsia and will be induced 12 days early on this one due to diabetes and it is looking like I am starting to have HBP also. I have had a headache for the past 3 days and I am thinking it is because of my blood pressure. I will see the doctor on Monday.. so we will see what happens then. I am currently 34 wks and 3 days. So I know I need to stay off my feet and watch my sodium levels and carbs. They will monitor you and you may have to do a 24 hour UA also. Good luck and all will be fine.

I was induced at 38 weeks due to that level of high blood pressure, but there were also other symptoms....the most obvious being REDUCED URINE OUTPUT....I stopped peeing almost completely, and it got really concentrated.
My normal bp is about 120/78, so it was quite a jump.
After 3 days of induction, they did a cesarean.

Your blood pressure readings are high. Contact labour ward (don't wait till the morning to call your midwife) ASAP and get yourself checked out. They will keep u in for at least a few hours, and if your BP readings stayes raised +/- protein in your urine / abnormal blood tests, they will induce you. So, remember to bring your delivery bag with you. They will have a very low threshold for inducing you, as you are past your due date, and your cervix favourable.

I had to be induced with my first son at 39 weeks. You are full term so he may want to induce labor if your blood pressure is still high. It is better to deliver than to risk you having a seizure or worse a stroke.

He'll probably have you on some bedrest and taking it easy as well as changing your diet to lower your blood pressure. Depending on how he feels he may induce you IF IT IS PRE-ECLAMPSIA.
