For all those people ranting about how Muslims do not do enough to assimilate into society, remember this, it was not Muslims who protested that it should be changed to puppies, some PC idiots made the ASSUMPTION that it would be offensive. Its the same with a lot of PC garbage i.e winter lights, black sheep etc It is never minorities who demand these things be changed, it is just people in power who ASSUME minorities want these things changed without using any common sense and more importantly without consulting the people that these things supposedly offend..I have never heard of a Muslim who is offended by Christmas or by a children's story about pigs for that matter!!!
All this PC rubbish does is create an attitude of resentment against minorities because people feel their traditions are being sidelined but most sensible people will understand that a children's story about pigs is just that, a CHILDREN'S STORY!

Political correctness has gone too far. Baa baa Black sheep was also banned from schools as it apparently victimised black people.

People are only offended by things if they are told they should be offended. I asked my Muslim friend about Three Little Pigs and she said she had no idea it was offensive and had never even thought about it.

Everything in this country has been censored to death, the Nanny State truly has made it difficult for us to say anything!

Oh dear! It is the bloody do gooders who make it harder for minorities because ignoramuses think that it will be the Muslims who wanted it changed when normally it's some middle class white guy! Muslims don't eat pork because they see the pig as an unclean animal but I'm sure a kids story wouldn't offend them! It's just stupid.

Anyway that's the thing about pigs, they are ok and everything but you don't want them building a house next door to you!

Oh my god

what total rubbish

Perhaps we should ban christmas then, and easter and every religious festival encase we upset someone.

If you ask muslims about this they laugh and say they are not offended, yet Tony the Dip **** Blair seems to think he knows the Muslims and other cultures better than they do them selves .....

Country is going to the dogs

I for one shall still be using Three little pigs

Similarly, there is a line in "Walking in a Winter Wonder Land" (I think that's the name!), where it says something about a "Parson Brown" and getting married. This has been replaced in some schools to remove the religious reference.

I personally think that things like these two situations are silly, as is protesting traditional or historic religious references, quotations, symbols, etc.

actually, it was three little puppies it got changed to,

terrible i know, but they did it to avoid offending muslims.

you know what the clincher is? a muslim mosque stated
"theres nothing wrong with singing or talking about pigs.. its just forbidden to touch them or eat them".

its just another example of people going over the top to be politically correct when there is absolutley no need, our country is prevented from flying out own national flag 99% of the time for crying out loud!

Totally agree with you, the country is in a state of total disaray - mainly due to people such as Cherie Blair, demanding human rights for people who plant nail bombs on trains and so on, killing innocent poeple! If we live in a society that has to walk on eggshells due to being politically correct all the time then it just re-ittarates my wanting to move! England is no longer for the English and we are becoming and VERY quickly the minority! I am by no means racist as each to their own as I say, however I dont agree with not being able to practice free speech in a country in which I was born, bought up in and currently raising my children in. Very good question.

It's strange that it wasn't changed before because the Jews might have been offended. Seems like double standards to me.

I'm a Christian.

This is very stupid and it goes to show how stupid all this PC is and how much trouble it causes, and from what i have seen Muslims couldn't care less it's eating pigs that's the problem

I believe the council stepped in and reverted the play back to the three pigs - stating that it was a well intentioned gesture but over the top.

Rest.... Breathe!
