Every PS2 can play god of war 2 ,the original PS2 can play all PS2 games.The only differences between the original PS2 and the slimline is the size and the slimline has an ethernet port for online play built in(with the original you had to buy an adapter).

Dude both system are the SAME THING. The electronics are smaller and they took out the old "bay" as to it getting smaller. Actually taking the "expansion bay" really cut most of the space out. Only reason it might not work on a "fat" system is the laser lens needs cleaned.

all ps2 should play god of war 2 there might be some that don't play it but that is because the laser is not picking up correctly it hapens whit older models
