that think feminism was a great thing in the past but think that nowadays feminism is BS? Do you still think those people have no idea what feminism is about? Why do you think those people now think feminism is BS and was good in the past?

That's not what I mean Rio Mandeira, I'm talking about people like the 2 poster who liked feminism when it first started and when it achieved the right for women to work and vote, but now dislike it and think it is BS.

I see four layers of feminism.

Level One - The Great - Grand-ma's. They are traditional, but appreciate voting, driving, and banking.

Level Two - The Grand - Mother's. They are pioneers. They accomplished so many good things and also made many big boo-boo's. Often times they come across as "Armed and Loaded" (metaphorically speaking) - quick run.

Level Three - The Mothers. They want to be more girly like their grand-ma's and don't understand the bitterness of their mothers (level II). In some ways, they are unappreciative ... in other ways, they're opening the eyes of their elders letting them know they still value traditional ways.

Level Four - The Daughters. They are "Armed and Dangerous" (seriously ... guns, & martial arts) who follow icon's like "Sex & the City" and "Women Action Hero's". Usually their boyfriends are the one's who teach them how to be physically aggressive, and then they take their grand-ma's values (Level II) and we're left screaming "Fire" - "Fire" - "Fire" - and you better RUN for the hills if you miff 'em.

(Remember - daughters usually rebell against mom & bond with grandma. This gives us flip's every generation)

They think feminism is BS because the goals we worked for in its heyday have, for the most part, been achieved. Feminism has toned down considerably, but by no means is it dead. We still have much to do. We're just not as radical about it anymore.

Feminism is being taken way too far these days and it's starting to tick me off. Women have come a long way since the feminist movement first started and I'm very thankful that women are allowed to have high paying jobs and are able to go to school to better themselves but enough is enough. Feminism is an extreme now and full of crap like women are better than men attitudes. Those kind of attitudes are the reason feminism was started only it was men before and now its women who are treating men unfairly. Myself, I'd settle for a happy medium.

This is why there is Third-wave feminism seeks to challenge or avoid what it deems the second wave's "essentialist" definitions of femininity, which (according to the third wave) often assumed a universal female identity and over-emphasized the experiences of upper middle class white women. A post-structuralist interpretation of gender and sexuality is also central to much of the third wave and helps to account for its heightened emphasis on the discursive power and fundamental ambiguity inherent in all gender terms and categories. Third wave theory usually encompasses queer theory, women-of-color consciousness, post-colonial theory, critical theory, transnationalism, ecofeminism, and new feminist theory.

Third wave feminists often focus on "micropolitics," writing about forms of gender expression and representation that are less explicitly political than their predecessors. They also challenged the second wave's paradigm as to what is, or is not, good for females.

Cuz they are retarded. There is nothing wrong with Feminism today.. people just categorize it wrong. There is nothing wrong with women trying to do better for themselves.
