I tend to come up with the best ideas when asleep. I remember on many occasions (and in particular my Uni days), I would go to sleep thinking about a problem, mulling it over throughout the night, then waking up in the morning either with the answer, or at the very least, a better way to tackle the problem. I suppose the best time to come up with good ideas is when you have the least distractions.
With the current water problems in Australia, taking a shower is becoming a more rushed activity. This is not good news for those who come up with their best ideas in the shower, as their idea generating time is being forcibly reduced.

yes it's true , you can come up with both good and bad ideas in the shower, the rays of the shower plusing onto your back as if finger tips were giving you a live rub down. lossen /relaxes the nerves, waking the brain to shout out just about anything and everything that was blocked. once we step out the shower , it's like all glands are shut, so have fun, having a mouth full. rather it's singing or blusting loose about your friend's pants that didn't match his shirt.

Yeah now that you mention it I do come up with good ideas in the shower. I guess you just become relaxed and calm and can easily think.

I always come up with my best ideas when I'm focusing on a simple task. Maybe it's because my brain isn't under pressure and I'm not trying to come up with an idea... Because when I do try, it doesn't usually happen, at least not easily. It's ironic.

I come up with the best ideas when I am in bed, half asleep, because that's I let my mind wander. I play word games or come up with warped ideas for fairy tales and that helps me relax and fall asleep.

While in the shower, I finally made up my mind on what I wanted to go to school for. I started 4 months ago, and it was the best decision!!!

My good ideas come when I am meditating. Not doing anything but relaxing and thinking. I think its because physical activities distract me too much.

I thought it was only me. I can also make predictions like death in the family and who I will be hearing from. Weird!!
