I'm looking to take pictures for a friend and she wants a setting near a dock, like with her legs hanging over the edge. We live in wayne county (detroit metro) but are willing to travel whereever. Does anyone know where and old dock is that we can use for the pictures. I just don't want boats around or people screwing up the shots. It doesn't have to be big just a little one.

go to harsens island mi.I-94 towards port huron,23 mile road exit algonac, turn right on 23 mile go until you get to the harsens island ferry,cost$6.00.once on the island turn left, stay left (dont follow the main road) this road will take you to the south channel where the freighters travel, the island people are very friendly and wont mind you using their dock for pictures!be sure to ask permission though,it is the respectful thing to do

You might find it easier to look for docks from the water. Borrow a canoe or a pair of kayaks and paddle around until you find one. Just a thought.

If you were in Maryland, I could easily help you out.

Head on over to Windsor and to one of the larger parks on the water and you should have no problem.
