I'm assuming they probably stripped your membranes, which would cause some contractions, some blood and the mucus is from the plug that was keeping your cervix closed, while it doesn't mean that you will start labor for sure, it's a sign that your cervix is starting to open and soften, which is a step in the right direction, best of luck to you and congratulations on your baby :)

Your doctor stripped your membrane to help your cervix dilated. What that means is he seperated the baby's sac from the uterus. The mucus it called the mucus plug which does what is sound like plugs up your cervix. Once you lose that the true contractions should soon follow. But active labor can start anywhere from now to a week later. I suggest walking and it should help start labor faster. Congrats

You lost your mucus plug. It's completely normal. They probably scraped your membranes. It's supposed to help labor start but not 100% guaranteed. Losing the mucus plug is normally the 1st sign of labor but not always. When I lost it my son was born the next morning. When my boss did, her son was born a week later Good luck to you!

It means congradulations~!~ You will soon be having your baby! My 3rd child once the mucas plug fell out it was about 4 hours later she was here, the 4th child it was 2 days after the mucas plug fell out. So just be ready and have your bags packed to go to the hospital. Also let your Dr know it came out and he may want to check your cervix, and just cus your cervix may not go fast and you think its gonna take forever,,,,,,I went from 2 to 10 in 7 minutes!

Another possibility rather than the mucous plug is that it is the lubrication the doctor used when he stuck his fingers in to help stretch your cervix. It can look mucousy and slimy.
I had my membranes stripped and stretched 3 times before it worked. If it even worked.

He probably scraped your membranes, and you are now seeing the mucus plug that was covering your cervix come out.

That's the mucous plug. your cervix is starting to open and the mucous plug is the first thing to come out. It doesn't necessarily mean you're going to go into labor soon, but it does mean that your cervix is dialting.
good luck!

mucus is from your mucus plug. you lost your mucus plug. this is how i explain it. your belly is a milk jug getting fuller and fuller. when its been filled all teh way up and is ready to empty the top pops off. they say you can loose your plug and still not go into labor for a week or two. i lost mine made love to my hubby with me on top and went into labor that morning. good luck your almost there.
