Sometimes yes. During the past several years that I have been treating clients, some have developed headaches. This is usually caused by congested energy in the body's energy center which is located in the center of the forehead, just above the eyebrow line. Also, this can be caused by contested energy in liver energy channel (sometimes the result of unprocessed anger, or a bad diet). This can be alleviated if the practitioner uses sweeping (using movements that scoop energy away from the body - usually performed a couple inches from the body) around the head and liver areas prior to the session and runs energy at the base of the scull and not the forehead. The client may also want to examine any anger or diet triggers, such as chocolate, coffee, or orange juice.

Sometimes, like with any natural treatments, your body has to make some changes to start the healing process, I practice Reiki on my clients, and I know from experience they sometimes get a headache and I have myself.
If it's too bothersome, I would get in touch with the person you saw for the service.
Reiki is a beautiful way to heal emotionally and relax physically.

It's an influx of energy into your system. If the Reiki practitioner doesn't prepare you properly, you can get headaches and also cleansing effects.
