I don't know why. It was the Clinton Administration that gave them the bid status to do the clean up work in Iraq. Haliburton owes as much to their success to the Clinton's as he does to the Bush Administration.

If she does have a problem, then it's probably because halliburton is moving their headquarters to Dubai to avoid being double taxed because of foriegn business. The US is one of the only countries that do this. It probably pisses her off because we all know how much she likes to impose taxes.

I guess people don't understand that international companies move their headquarters out of the US if they can because of US tax policies.

A US based company that does business overseas will have its overseas earnings taxed by the US, in addition to the taxes it pays in the countries it earns the money in.

This puts them at a cost disadvantage to other competing companies, because most countries do not double tax the foreign earnings of their own companies.

But, hey, what do facts matter when we can piss&moan about how evil Bush and the evil Republicans are outsourcing jobs.

How are they planning to hire that many in Houston, when their headquarters, IN Houston is moving to Dubai? If anything, there will be a loss of jobs.
