It does not matter what type of phone you have or your friend's service. It depends on the type of service that you have. Most companies charge $.10-$.20 for a regular text message and $.25-$.50 for a mulitmedia (picture) message. I suggest you get a messaging plan. They start from $5.00 per month to about $20.00, depending on how many text messages you are going to use. I suggest you look into this since even though $.10-$.20 does not seem like alot, but it does add up.

its called a "text message" and it all depends on your plan. I have verizon and I think its 10 cents a message. Most cell services offer a plan like unlimited messages for 20 dollars a month. Nokia is a type of phone, not a cell service

If you do not have a text messaging plan it will cost 10 to 20 cents per message sending ,and receiving .. is it not easier ,and cheaper to just call the person in your free time ??

Most are 10 cents each, but some people have monthly plans where they can send so many a month for a price like 5.99 or something.
