unfortunately, there are no answers other than you really need to get to a dr. asap.....

there are just way too many variables for this.... your last period being in Jan. I would jump at you are pregnant.... test says no... there are too many other answers;

1) your age.... teens can go for months in between periods if they are just getting for the first few years... flipside you start the pre-premenapausal anywhere from late twenties to mid forties depending on genetics and that can have you having no period for six months to eight.....

2) stress- if you are trying to become pregnant... worried you might become pregnant.... have other stresses in your life that do not even relate to this... all of them, a combination that will stop a period (most times) dead in it's tracks.... and then if you add on top of that, "oh no... I didn't get my period... " and stress on it? it won't come..... and the horrid thing? you do not even have to know you are stressed.... the body does....

3) weight loss, especially quickly..... dropping twenty or more pounds can delay it... stop it... change it... affect us in so many ways.... and that is just one

4) weight gain.... oh yes... we get both extremes.... I have some friends that are heavy set (I mean two hundred plus) that only get their once a year or twice... when I gained during pregnancy a large amount -- I had pre-eclampsia with a few pregnancies and so gained seventy plus pounds toward the end...afterwards I found I did not get a period at all until I lost thirty pounds... and just so you know? that seventy plus? I was 115lbs when I got pregnant... I was 206 after I had my eldest... which was also the worst weight gain.... the dr. said when I lost enough for my particular body? I would start getting my period again... he was right....anyway

what did I forget?

you did not mention pain.... if you have some these can be included in reasons/answers;

a) low hcg.... if (IF) you were pregnant and testing negative, might be placenta is not attached properly

b)I do not remember if etopic pregnancies always test positive or not(but will look up and edit if I find this info)

c) umm... I think, and please do not freak out... just trying to give you all possible answers... but tumors that are large might (BIG MIGHT) cause a lack of period.....

general page for women's health:

this one is missed and irregular periods;

http://women.webmd.com/tc/Missed-or-Irregular-Periods-Check-Your-Symptoms

this next link is to abnormal bleeding, it gives info on resons etc... I add it due to no period and then spotting....

http://women.webmd.com/tc/Abnormal-Vaginal-Bleeding-Topic-Overview

you can do a search from any of those pages/links for other symptoms you might be having....
but
it is still the wisest course to also seek out professional advise on this....

thank you for taking the time to read this
hope I have been able to help
good luck

you may be starting your period in the next day or so hence the spotting, but if your last test was a few weeks ago and you want to be sure you could test again, if you went that long without a period and are not pregnant you probably are having problems with ovulating and if you want to get pregnant should speak with a doctor, if you don't want to I'd suggest using birth control because that could regulate your periods. good luck
