Walnecks Classic and Vintage cycle trader magazine.
Aside from personal classiieds there are contacts for shops and businesses that deal in old collectable bikes.

Your best bet is Ebay. They often have basket engines for sale. Often times these are projects of people who found they bit off more than they can chew. You might check to see if there are any swap meets in your area, however you might not find full engines unless you are at a big meet.
You might also find an Harley that includes the engine but doesn't run. This will likely run you more, but you could sell the parts you don't need.

Hey who you calling a knucklehead? Try local Harley or motorcycle collectors clubs. Also might want to try looking in Hemmings Motor News, they list thousands of vehicles of all sorts for sale along with parts etc.
