All politicians have connections. I'm not sure that all are with the oil companies, but they have drug companies, crooked corporations, and of course, the oil companies who finance their campaigns. When the race is finally over and there is a named president, he (or she someday maybe) ends up owing their financial supporters. Pretty soon, the media has the world believing that it's only this ONE politician who's got some kind of "connection" to a profitable company. It's not that way at all. They all must raise the money to campaign, and typically that money comes from big corporations who have the money to lend and stand to gain a profit in the end.

If you are not still in school, I'm guessing you have money in a 401K or a mutual fund. Then guess what, you also own oil stock.
And since you like insulting oil. Did you know that Government makes the biggest profit off of every gallon of gas sold? Reduce regulations in this country so oil companies can use their profits to drill for oil in THIS country. Then we won't need oil from other countries.

No the best selling point for a politician would be that he is not connected to any other politician. Do you truly believe that big oil money doesnt line democrats pockets as well as republicans? Do you even understand how Washington works?

LOL. I'd love to see your source for that conclusion! Most Republicans own oil stock?? Then, it's equally as likely that most Democrats also own oil stock. I'd like to see proof that Al Gore does not own oil stock. Bet he does.

You are so full of it it's coming out of your ears! I am a republican who owns nothing connected to oil but a car. No one I know owns oil stock. Where do you people come up with this stuff? Are you really that obtuse?

Could you provide a source for your initial premise that "right now most Republicans own oil stock"?

Not true. Pleanty of prominent democrats have oil interests as well. Soros is now heavily invested in Halliburton, as is Michael Moore.

The only good thing about your question is that it brought Sway_26 out to play...hmmm, Sway_26....
But I digress. How about providing some links to prove your assertions? Someone concerned about the environment? Hmmm, you mean like Al Gore who has created a farce in carbon credits to justify his enormous energy use? Whatever.
