Server is a computer that serves the client's requests. You can also say A computer is a server if its answering B computers request. For example you are using Yahoo site, Yahoo has web servers that respond to your computers requests.... when you type in www.yahoo.com, the web server responds with the page..... There are different types of servers, like web servers, database servers, biztalk servers, speech servers, unix servers, linux servers... windows 2003 servers.... so on and so forth.
