I like to get line-ups, get my toes done, facials (my wife's idea), shine and clean my shoes and dry clean all my jeans and shirts. I even wash my car everyweekend so I look sharp when i hit hot spots. Sometimes i splurge everynow and then with massages. I am happily married with a baby on the way, so why the sterotyping?

these days with all the ignorant sterotyping, no one is safe. if you are a woman who loves sports and hate dresses, you can be labeled as in the closet. if you have a wife then i wouldnt worry what they think

It must be insecurity. Unfortunately, many people want to mentally fit others into a neat little box. Guys are "supposed to be "hot", yet messy slobs who love sports and cars". Women are are "supposed to be" all girly, thin, obsessed w/shopping & "hot". If they don't fit into those parameters there's something "wrong". Whatever!!! My husband is a computer geek who doesn't get into sports or cars, is sensitive (not a doormat tho) and very into personal hygeine and I LOVE IT!!! I am definitely feminine but grew up with 3 brothers and so have some masculine qualities that have served me very well (love action flicks & tech, etc.).

So many guys these days listen to what others tell them and feel like they must be gay or are expected to be so and so perhaps they choose to slide into the lifestyle because of insecurity and media reinforcement...I really can't say. I can say that for me, machismo from any culture, including my own, creeps me out (as do huge muscles...ick!). I have always preferred men with a slight build who are slightly less masculine. They are generally, nicer, kinder and more sensitive to women. They also make great husbands, fathers and friends to men & women. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of big masculine guys out there that are kind & sensitive, I guess the problem is that many of the more masculine guys slide into the expectation for others like them and follow the stereotype that goes towards being "ultra male".

One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone automatically slaps a stereotypical label on another person solely based on looks and mannerisms. People don't seem to realize what sort of influence that can have for good or bad. Not only that but they are also reinforcing same stereotypes in their own psyche. That's not good for anyone.

We all have problems, trials & childhood issues but in the end none of that matters. We ultimately decide where we are going in life and who we will be.

Your wife is a lucky woman! More power to you, you can be a great influence & example to your baby and other men around you.

Because it's like Hollywood. Once Hollywood finds a way to make a movie, thats pretty much the only way they make it. To people, if they find a way to stereo type some one then they just go by that.

The problem is styles change and "Metro" men are just considered gay. Even though it's a great way to be clean and pamapered. Just don't listen.

GOOD LUCK ON THE BABY!

yah honestly get over everyone steoretypes everyone. Black, Muslims, models, teens.... It's not right but its true. The reason you probably encounter this is because most gay men do a lot of grooming.

I like a well groomed guy...although their is a line that can be crossed....like eye brows that look like they are painted on and shaved armpits....errr well then they probably are gay......damn see now i'm doing it. You can't escape it!...if you know your straight then thats all that matters. Cause everyone is going to stereo type you not matter how you look. 20 years ago you would of been stereotyped as a criminal....the world just obessed with hating on stuff....it used to be blacks...now its gays and muslims...and mexicans...and models. No sense stressing over it.

I see nothing wrong with you being very well groomed in many aspects. People do stereotype & I don't know why. I wish more men were as well groomed as you. What others think or say isn't important. It's whatever works for you. When I attended cosmetology school years ago, the public came in to get their hair done, as well as getting manicures & pedicures. It was not uncommon for salesman to come in for weekly manicures, but people labeled them too. So many shallow minded people in this world.

The people who think that are just mad cause they know you look good all the time, and they don't know how to look good. I love when men are always clean looking and keep up with themselves. It's usually guys that say that stuff so don't worry what they think! The women get to enjoy how you look!

Do whatever makes you happy. It shouldn't matter what anyone else thinks. Some people are simply old fashioned and don't like anything modern, and men taking care of themselves is a concept that they are not used to.

It is President Bush's fault. He made an executive order that mandated that all guys who groom are to be considered gay.
Take it up with him...wait, he made that illegal...oh well.

Do you have a twin? I bet you smell good too.
Forget those other women, they don't know what they are missing.
