My friend has just got a job that he has wanted for ages I want to make a big fuss but Im low on money. Ive so far just text him saying congratualtions.

PLEASE don't text, so impersonal! Buy him a card, post it to him, that is something he can put on the windowsill and look at (texts are just hidden in phones). And write something from the heart like "I'm so proud of you getting this brilliant job, you're going to be wonderful there. The firm is so lucky to have someone with your amazing talent". something like that, go overboard, people LOVE to be flattered and they love receiving mail. It's a small gesture, just the cost of a simple card plus postage, but it will really make a huge difference in the quality that you have put into your friendship. Texts are just lazy !

Instead of just a simple text, you can send him a special congratulations card, at least it's will be more special & colorful. Yahoo cards, & many others, offer free cards, many of them even with cute & cheerful animation.

Why don't you invite him over.... cook him his favorite dinner and watch one of his favorite movies... you don't need a lot of money to celebrate with a friend.... Congratulations to Him..... Good Luck....
