Looking for the number of people who work in the industry worldwide. US vs Rest of the world also useful. This would include talent (actors, writers, photographers, musicians, models, etc.) and services (crew, talent services, production, administrative, etc.)

I know it won't be an exact number, I'm interested in any insight, combining known figures with cogent assumptions. Sorry but, "Your guess is as good as mine" isn't the answer I'm looking for here.

I think you'll be looking a very long time.
There's no way to calculate such a figure - film, television, live acting, music, DJs, dance, the visual arts, the internet. The technical people, the roadies, those who work in the venues. Those who create the costumes and paint the faces. The writers, composers, managers, production companies.
Anybody could make a guesstimate, but that is all it would be - so pick a number, any number.
We do love entertainment!
