So I have this classmate, and she tells me she trusts me and even goes as far as to call me her best friend. BUT, I do NOT see her as a best or even a close friend.

Now, she's asking me why I am feeling down, which I am, and I don't want to tell her because it's personal. I haven't told anyone why, although lots of people are asking... She threatens me- if I do not tell her, she won't talk to me ever again. I say that I'll tell her someday. (I DON'T PROMISE)

The problem-- she has been threatening to end our friendship from the start so that she can force me to do everything her way. I don't like it because it seems as if she's using me. Is it wrong that I don't want to trust her?

*I've had a past experience like this, but even though I did, I still can't help but be kind to everyone (and I ALWAYS end up being betrayed by those I once trusted).

Ok, if you don't think of her as a best or even a close friend, then I really don't see your problem here. If she's threatening to end her friendship with you, is that not what you want anyway? Tell her to grow up and that "true and real" friends don't threaten others.

Also, don't feel you HAVE to tell her everything. The way she is behaving I'd be telling her to take her so-called friendship and stick it where the sun don't shine.

Let's see. You don't see her as a close friend or "best" friend, and she's trying to blackmail you into tell your secret by saying she will no longer be your friend.

She's trying to control you. I think you need to end the friendship because she is certainly not someone you need to trust.

I would tell her that you like to keep your private life to yourself, that if you needed or wanted her help you would've asked. If she wants to end the friendship I would tell her that you feel it is a good idea since she is trying to be so manipulative and you do not feel the closeness to her.
