A study I did 25 years ago showed both boys and girls prefer blue over pink, however girls prefer pink more than boys. 25 years ago pink was a fashionable colour for males with grey. Now it could be a disaster for you if you are male.
Pink is okay for girls anytime (as far as a guy is concerned... girls may have another opinion)

It's a matter of personal taste. I love blue, but pink is great too.
