Don't listen to your friend. A lot of people who work in fashion are creative, even if they don't dress like something coming down the runway. Designers like Donna Karan tend to wear a "uniform"--simple, functional black pieces, for example. Follow your bliss!!!
p.s. I love Rome, and Italian fashion is wonderful.

I would suggest attending a fasion design course in your home country first, getting your degree, and then move to Rome to try and get an internship. Fashion can be learned, and if it's something you would enjoy working with, I'd start with the education and then go for Rome. Good luck!

If you have graduated from college with a degree in a related field and have solid working experience, then you might have a chance.
If you're just "into" fashion, forget it...Rome is not going to be holding it's breath waiting for you.

I really don't get your question. It was just a bunch of rambling. You like fashion, but your friends don't think you are fashionable...? Some people are born with it, others try to learn it. It is something you can learn. If it's something you really want to do then go for it. Only you can decide what is best for you.

What do your friends know? Don't let them hold you back from even trying.
