Nobody should be banned from participating in the party or in politics by virtue of his religion.
That doesn't mean his religion is out of bounds for discussion.
Religion is not like race or gender.
You're BORN a man or woman, black, white, hispanic, asian, whatever - and the color of your skin has nothing to do with your beliefs.
Your religion IS your CORE belief.
So if we're going to judge people by what they believe, religion is right there.
I don't have a particular problem with Mormons - I haven't read the Book of Mormon but I've never head that it tells Mormons to cut people's heads off.
The Koran DOES and that's why I think the religion question is a legitimate area of inquiry for Barrack Obama.

What would be the point. Mormons are renowned for their wholesome lifestyle and staunch morality.
I have no idea how a Mormon would fit into the modern Republic can party, however we life in a free nation. Banning a person on the grounds of religion is highly unconstitutional.

Why would you do that?
Should Catholics be banned from the Democrat Party?
That would nullify JFK.
What about Jews as independants?
So long Lieberman.
That's a ridiculous question, but hey, it's worth 2 points....

No, but I am more interested in your reasoning behind this question? What is wrong with Mormons? The Democrats have a socialist dike running, so I think being Mormon is rather quite honorable.

Why would anyone want to ban them? I know many people who are members of the Latter Day Saints Church (Mormon) and they all seem nice to me and very much pro-American.

No. No one should be banned for religion. America was founded on religious freedom.

Thanks, and have a nice day.

Why? Should Obama be banned because his father and step father were Muslim?
