Do you think it is racial? Why do we celebrate the Irish sterotype of them being drunks? Should we have an Asian holiday when we all do math problems, or would that be wrong? Why is it ok to mock certain races and not others?I am Irish and am just wondering.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I am going to drink!! I am Irish for God's sake!!! I also know the history behind it. I was stating that everyone should lighten up about the whole race issue.....I hope everyone enjoys the holiday. Just remember, showing your privates in a bar, as funny as it seems at the time, is never a good idea.

St. Patrick's Day is not about being drunk. It's supposed to be a day to remember the patriot saint Patrick. He converted many Irish to Christianity, and they say he drove out all the snakes from Ireland. Many (not all) Irish like to drink to celebrate. It's just been taken out of control in America. We think that if you have Irish ancestors that we are supposed to drink ourselves to deaths at a parade, and wear t-shirts that say kiss me I'm Irish! lol
