I have some friends who are planning to adopt, and they said it is actually easier to adopt outside the US than in it. Less waiting, less paperwork, and the chance to give a poor child a good life.

Yes there are children in the U.S. that need families too. I guess the difference is that in America there are places for these children. No matter what they can still go to school. Have a home, and food to eat. Your not going to find a child homeless unless they ran away from home. Not all, but some other countries kids are a lot worse off. They may have no one to help take care of them. They may be living in far worse conditions. People just want to help the most needy.

I think it would be rewarding to give a child with absolutely NOTHING the opportunity to go to school, and have 3 meals a day, and own clothing. I'm not sure I understood your question, but I hope that answers it.

Spiritually rewarding more than anything, in knowing that you have given a child the chance at growing up with a normal life. I don't see why anyone would want anything more than that.
