me and my girlfriend are thinking of talking to a counselor before we get very serious, is that a good idea?

sounds like a good idea for any couple who wants to get married. marriage is a serious step and should be taken seriously

No. My girlfriend and i were great in the very beginning...floating in cloud 9. It wasn't until about a yr into the relatnship that we started having problems in areas we NEVER would have guessed would become a problem for us. So that's when we decided to go to couples counseling.

I guess it couldn't hurt to go into counseling BEFORE u actually get serious...i've never tried it. It just seems kind of pre-mature. My thoughts are, if im willing to dedicate that kind of time & money to getting counseling...them i'm already SERIOUSLY committed!
