According to a poll from March 9-11, 2007 that asked:

Who do you think should be responsible for determining foreign policy in Iraq?

Congress 47%
President 33%
Both 14%
Neither 2%
Unsure 3%

I am a democrat, and that is shocking to me, even as someone that does not care for GW.

What an era my kids have been raised in. The Bush administration has been disasterous, and, the Clinton administration, a sordid mess. Sigh. Boy, can we use a fresh and wise leader...

I won't try to "discredit" the poll. But it does show how ill-informed the people are about the government and the Constitution if they believe that anybody BUT the president is responsible for determining foreign policy.

Feelings don't matter here - facts do. And the glaring thing is that apparently over 1/2 of the people are freaking clueless about the Constitutional separation of powers between the branches. And if these are voters, it means our future is not very bright.

Now a days everybody is into healthful, or one hundred % juice beverages. So Koolaid as strong because it really is, is basically sugar water, and maximum father and mom favor their youthful ones to have something a touch fit.

I agree with you. The poll surprises me too. I guess it is a sad state of affairs that most Americans are too ignorant to know the constitution says foreign policy is to be set by the President.

Actually, that's correct and that's how it should be. Determining foreign policy SHOULD be done by Congress as presented by the President.

The only caveat to this is that Congress already gave that permission and now it's up to the President and the Generals to win the war.

Congress should have oversight but no say in the way a war is fought. They tried it in Viet Nam and they screwed the troops and lost the war.

Usual story, you know, they only polled a 100 people, blah, blah, blah,........

It comes to something when the American people would rather Congress formulate Foreign policy rather than trust the President.

The truth is Mr. Bush has passed his sell by date and should resign pronto.

My belief it should be primarily with the President. He is the commander in Chief and we all know that you when you manage by committee you don't get anything done and nothing moves forward. Who did these pollsters poll? What were the dynamics of the group? Polls are too easily manipulated.

If your poll numbers are accurate, it looks like most Americans have stopped drinking Bush's koolaid.

A poll by whom?
If it is legitimate (and I strongly doubt that!), it goes to show how incredibly gullible and uneducated the masses are.
The President is Commander-in-Chief.
End of story!

Hey, I've got a poll for you...

In a recent poll, conducted March 16, 2007, 100% of those interviewed stated that this question sounds like another whining, crying liberal, who believes every damn politically biased and motivated poll ever released by the liberal media.

Film at 11.
