when can a baby understand whats going on?

at what age whould a baby understand
when someones fighting (having loud arguments and some hitting)
would a 1 year old understand somewhat thats going on?

Babies understand long before they can talk. i would suggest no fighting, arguments or physical violence around your child! It really can screw them up, emotionally, even if you don't see the effects of it right away.

Yes! My friend's grown daughter has a 15 month old baby boy. The boy's father and mother are estranged. The father came over one night when he was just 12 months and decided he wanted back with her, she said no, he ripped her pants off and tried to rape her, hitting her, etc. Right in front of his son!. Then he slit his wrists and kept telling her "See what you made me do." The mother didn't press charges or anything. About 3 weeks after that, she found her son hitting his friend hard enough to break skin and saying see what you made me do. If the fights are physical, then the baby and mother are both being abused and need to get out of the situation immediately, there are all sorts of places that will help with that. Good luck!

Babies understand everything even when they're still in your tummy they cant speak but they communicate with you by gestures, movements, cries, and that cute baby talk! If she's hungry she cries that's a way to let you know its feeding time, if you talk to her she'll smile or raise her hand up move her fingers whatever it might be she's still trying to respond to you in her way!!!
