You must be an American because you're generalizing right now! Not all Americans generalize. You don't know every American to know this.

Are you not generalizing Americans?
Not all Americans are the same. Every Americana's ancestors came from other countries. America is made up of people from all around the world. We are all still proud of our heritage. Don't think we've forgotten where we came from. We don't hate other people just because they are not Americans.

what you just said is a complete and perfect example of hypocricy.
why dont you ask yourself? your creating examples of that which you question in the first place.
not all americans generalise, but you just generalised all americans to do that, why? work out the awnser to that, and you'll have awnser to the above question, though in actual fact.. everyone will generalise at some point in their lives..
^ look what i just did without thinking, its that easy.

Probably the same reason you are generalizing about all Americans.

We like things wrapped up in nice little packages. we are far too busy to deal with everything on a 1 on1 basis

I wonder if you are aware of the irony in your question. But generalization is hardly confined to Americans; everybody does it out of necessity because it is impossible to learn all the variants of individual traits. We can, however, learn which traits are likely to be relevant (or not) in any individual situation.

Nice job of making a generalized statement. Your statement could also be called stereotyping.

Remember that humor is different between cultures. Doesn't mean people who don't understand it are stupid, they just have a different mindset than you. Only reason I got it was because we Cherokee have a habit of playing around with words all the time ;)

That's funny. There is really no way to effectively navigate life without generalizing.
