why do we celebrate saint patricks day more than we do saint georges day (in england) it just dont seem to make sense to me.

saint george is the english patron and also i am english and living in england and i wanted to know why does the english celebrate saint patricks day (the irish patron ) more than its own

Because we had a huge influx of Irish people into this country and it is also a celebration of their (my) heritage. Also, after the Revolution, many Americans were looking to purge themselves of anything they percieved as English.

i dont know what saint georges day is. he sounds famous though
