I would love to travel somewhere in Europe for my honeymoon, however funds are limited. I think Paris would be amazing, but I am open to many other ideas. I would like to stay in a city. Thanks in advance for your ideas.

I disagree with Elissabeth - I think Paris is a wonderful idea for a honeymoon, and more practical than Greece - Those Islands like Santorini are much more pricey than a trip to Paris.

Check out www.bt-store.com its a discount travel site with better rates than travelocity, expedia, etc.. They have packages all over the world.

I backpacked last year over there.
Here are some tips:
Go to the local operas, in any city, early in the morning and ask them when the cheap tickets go on sale. Don't be embarassed because they are more than happy to tell you. Usually very nice. I saw "Taska" in Budapest for less than 3 American dollars! If you go to Budapest, you can visit the baths! Do some research on this one.

If you go to Venice, buy a bottle of wine, and a full-day pass on the ferry. It's the only public transportation in the city, and an affordable way to mingle with the Itailian, and cruise the canals for some great pics. Very Romantic! Take the ferry to the island of Murano, where they hand blow Venetian glass, and wonder around in the shops.

I would go to Napoli, Italy, and stay at the six small rooms hostel. Two Australian women run it. Very clean, comfortable, and homey. They have a kitchen with plenty of utensils, and most of the time, they have everything you need, like salt, etc.
Anyway, buy some local produce and cook like an Italian, with their tomatos, pasta, olives, herbs, cheeses, etc. Cool experience.

From Napoli, take a day trip to the ruins of the ancient city of Pompeii. destroyed by Mt. Vesuvius in 720 A.D. Bring a camera, as your friends back home will never believe you if you tell them. This is the most mesmerizing experience I've had in my life! Also, a little inside tip. Pink Floyd recorded their album "Live at Pompeii" here in the oldest amphitheatre in the world...if you listen to Pink Floyd!

The following day, take another day trip to the Amalfi Coast. You'll have to take the bus, and don't try to drive. The ride on the bus will scare the daylights out of you! But it will all be worth it when you get there! Beautiful!

In Paris, as I'm sure everyone will put this one, sit out on the steps of the building facing the Eiffel tower with a bottle of wine, or a couple of them, and watch the light show at dusk. It is very popular, but with reason.

I have an idea where u can go for ur honeymoon, even more "romantic" than Paris,Plus the currency rates are much lower than Euro's.Shud be an ideal place to visit.U must go to Prague.I personally feel that its more romantic than the "over rated" Paris.Of coz its a beautiful city but i were u, i'll go to Prague.U can visit the famous catheral, take a stroll along the Charles Bridge in the evenings with ur loved one.So much to see in Prague.U can check the link below for more info. What i have been told, if u kiss ur loved one on the Charles Bridge during a midsummer's nite,ur love wud last forever...Congrats & have fun!

Btw the currency exchange is 100usd = 2000czk so its way cheaper compared to Paris ( which is using Euro )

You should try Malta. It's extremely romantic and everso relaxing. It's a very old island so there are lots of old ruins and churches, museums etc... to see. The weather is gorgeous in the summer and they have some awesome open markets in the little fishing villages and another bonus is that everyone speaks english!!!! Go check the website out malta.com It's a beautiful country and extremely cheap!!
