Working 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. You can't be fired. Pays you enough to have a decent house, a good car, travel once a year. Nobody demands anything. No pressure. No boss. You don't have to use your brain. No competition. No chance of a salary raise either. No challenges and no risks.

I had a job like that for almost ten years. I walked out. I own three bars now, work my tail off to keep my little home and beat up cars. I haven't traveled since my tour in Afghanistan when I was in the military, everyone demands everything of me, I have to constantly be one top of what's going on in two other places while I'm at one and the competition across the street is huge.

I love it.

I do not think I would like a job where I did not feel needed, at least to a small degree. I would definitely prefer to use my brain too.

I can not even think of a job that fits this description. What would this job be?

No- I enjoy a challenge and I want the freedom that owning your own business gives you. But a lot of people would kill for that job, so go for it!

Yes...I have enough challenges outside of work to satisfy me. If this were my job, it would be my down time.

That sounds somewhat like my job. I have to get my mental stimulation off the job, and hobbies like sky diving give me the rush I need to keep life interesting.

The first part sounded ideal. The last part, I'm not so sure about. I'd be so bored I'd end up eating my hands or something.

not really
i'd feel very frustrated
the working hrs are fine, security as well, the pay, no demands, swell
the fact that you don't use your brain would kill me though
