yes it is! My period would skip months until i was 20 and i went on birthcontrol.....some times it would be light, sometime heavy........all NORMAL!

When my daughter was this age, she was irregular. She could even skip a few periods. As she reached 15, all her cycles started regulating. If she is not sexually active, then I wouldn't worry.
I'm not saying this to be smart, but now is the time you really should have a talk to talk about her sexual activity. There are children her age already active and you want to stay on top of things. Communication is the only way to overcome her fears and yours. I have one 18. We still talk. They become accustomed to discussing their fears and are more inclinded to ask when they have one as they are more comfortable. You must always remain calm about any questions or statements they discuss with you, whether your shocked or upset. Now is the time to help her weighing her decisions carefully. I have on 24 & 18. They didn't regulate until they went on the pill. If things persist, you will probably feel more comfortable taking her to a doctor for their opinion. I'd wait a couple more weeks.

ok i am 12 and i went to a doctor and they told me that it was very normal to not hvae a period for the first three years, like if she just had it then she may not have it in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 8, 9, 10(and so on) months, it may be even three years after she has her period so dont worry, think on the bright side she wont have to deal with cramps.

Well, if she is not sexually active, then "yes" it is normal. When I was 13, there were some months that I wouldn't even have a period. If she starts experiencing bad cramps, etc. Then check with a doctor.

I think most young girls cycles aren't regular for several years after they start. My 13 year old daughter hasn't even started yet. All girls are different. Take you to the doctor if you really don't feel right about this. This is my second daughter, My oldest will be 22 and she only got regular after going on the pill.

some girls have irregular cycles. Is her cycle usually not on time?? If she just started her period I wouldn't worry . If she's had it for a while and it's only late this time. I would definatly think about the possibilaties. Is she sexually active? Also lots of physical activaty can mess up your cycle too. Did she just start any sports? Good Luck!

Yes, it can be normal. If she has just started her menstrual cycle it may take a little bit for her to become regular, but you need to find out if she is sexually active, because there is always that "chance", also take into consideration if she has started any new physical activities, such as a sport or something, because that can chage the cycle as well. it normal,every teenagers that start their period will get late or have period for twice a month it's normal because our ovaries still can't work probably yet it must take around 6-7 to work good,so don't worry.if u r still worry,u can bring her to clinic..

I'd talk with her about sexuality and any possible boyfriends she may have. een if you think its not a possibility it is, kids these days are having sex SO young. if she is having sex have her take a pregnancy test to make sure. if she's not having sex a 2-week late period is ery normal and can be explained away by a long list of reasons including stress, diet and her young age.

Well if you know for sure she is not active. She is young so periods cant be time this early don't get worried until 15, 16

Unless she has an irregular cycle or an history of gynecological conditions f.i. endometriosis, this is abnormal, and she should see her OB/GYN. And mom there are a lot of reasons for her period to be late. Do not jump to conclusions yet .
