I need help writing a letter to parents explaining to them that I am a student teacher that attends _________________. That I will be working with their child for the next two month. I need permission to take photographs of their child participating in student-led activities.

What you have right there sounds like a good start. Be sure to explain what the study is looking for and what it will entail. Make it clear that no harm will befall the kids, no identifying names will be used in the formal study, and that another experienced teacher will be in the room at all times overseeing this.
