Makes me sick. It's like putting puppies in hand bags. Little black children from developing countries are not fashion accessories! They are people! If she actually cared about these communities she would donate money to go towards educating the young about safe sex, health care and better schooling. Then there would be less unwanted little uns and overwhelmed mothers with too many little mouths to feed, less parents dying of curable diseases creating more orphans and... well.. the list goes on, doesn't it? It's not really helping at all. If it becomes too popular, who's to say these children won't be auctioned? Sounds silly and extreme, but that's what happens to any commodity, isn't it?

I don't really think it matters HOW they adopted a child (and you have to remember that the adoption process varies depending on the country). The REASON for adopting is more important. Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt are adopting for the right reasons and have done it in the right way, ligitimately and legally. Not only that, Brad Pitt has always wanted children (thats why he & Jennifer Aniston split), and Angelina Jolie adores children.
The biggest question mark is on Madonna. She's gone through the process the completely wrong way (the little boy is not an orphan), and her reason for adopting is questionable too - it seems that celebrities like to follow the lead in certain things, and sadly adoption seems to have become the latest 'craze' and 'fashion'.

It is obvious that Brad and Angelina's motives are sincere and they clearly love all their children, and the children are happy and will have the best life possible because of that, not because they are millionaires.

Instead of criticizing them then, they should be applauded and admired for doing an amazing thing, in the right way, out the goodness of their hearts, something which can not be said for Madonna and others like her who adopt for questionable reasons.

I have heard sometimes how it is for overseas adoptions...it's not just celebrity parents to be that pick their child from a picture. But I also read that she first visited this orphanage back in October. Instead of people constantly bitching about what she is or isn't doing as far as adopting children, time could be better spent being a productive member of society. At least she's doing something and giving these kids a better life than they could ever have imagined otherwise.

I dont really like Andelina Jolie, but I think adopting children is a good thing. So what if it was from a photo, I bet she has donated loads to that orphanage the give the other kids a better life. I genuinely believe she is trying her best for the kids she sees
People who are copying her to get better press?, well they are the idiots..

1. A child is a child. It doesn't matter if they are in the US or not. If a child needs help and you can, why wouldn't you?
2. What is so terrible about seeing a picture of an adorable child that needs a home and giving it to him?
3. Have you (or any of you providing "answers") actually adopted a child?
- then stop casting stones!

I'm glad she cares enough to adpot a child and give them a better life, BUT
#1 what about children here in the US thatcould use a better life?
#2 doesn't it seem unfair somehow that she decides she wants to adopt again, picks a lid from a photo, and in less than a month, it's a done deal, while other parents that want to adopt have to jump through all kinds of beauracratic hoops to be approved to adopt? Guess money really will buy anything ...

Not correct. Angie and Brad went to Vietnam a few months ago and brought gifts for the children. It was then that she felt the need to adopt Pax Thien. And although celebrities get special treatment, Angie still had to abide by the Vietnamese rules for adopting. They wouldn't give her a baby because of who she is. In all honesty, many people who live any where aside from US, UK, Europe, don't know who they are?!?!

I think it makes the other children in orphanages feel bad when another child is picked by parents especially right in front of them, in person. You do have a point however choosing to adopt a child from a picture seems a little frivolous. The child is going to be a member of your family for the rest of your life, parents should meet the child in person before making such a major decision. Then again parents have to follow the adpotion rules from whereever they are adopting.

Anglina Jolie adopts third-world children for her own sake, not for the sake of the child. If she was truly motivated by altruism, she would donate money to education, birth control and healthcare, not take a single child out of its birth-country. Nor would she continue to strip the child of his identity by giving him a new name when he is used to answering to his old one. And why didn't she adopt an American child? Or would that not make headlines?

she only had her own baby 10 months ago. i think that she should settle for a while and look after the kids she has already got. if she is adopting them purely cos she feels sorry for them then she is going to have a hell of a lot of kids to take care of in the future. i wonder if brad has a say in the matter?
