I am going to both Venice and Rome and i want to take a day trip to Florence. But i am not sure which place would be closer or better to leave from. Thank you very much for your advice!

Go from Rome.. Its closer and takes less time to get there. There are more trains going from Rome to Florence than Venice to Florence.
There's also direct trains from Rome to Florence. But from Venice there's a short 15 min train off the islands, then you have to change trains again in Milan.

I honestly don't think you can do Florence justice in a day...there is just so much to see in the Uffizi alone and you can spend a couple of hours queuing to get in to it! Please do yourself a favour and extend your trip a little so that you can walk around Florence, enjoy the architecture and have time to duck inside some of the most fantastic galleries in the world. If you do insist on a day trip - leave from Rome....

ohoooooooo, how might desire to you bypass to Venice for under an afternoon? you will possibly be able to desire to a minimum of in a single day - it is so my in demand city in all of Italy. however the guy above is stable plenty, plenty extra convenient from Rome
