Albert has the talent and eye to do it whether it be this year or not. A lot of great hitters did it more than once. Joe DiMaggio did it 7 times, more than any other player with 25-homers or more. Joe's best is 46-Hr's with only 37 K's. Yogi Berra is second with 4 times. Ted Williams 3-times as is Johnny Mize. Johnny Mize hit the most homers - 51, with only 42 K's.
Lou Gehrig had 2-years: 49 Hr's - 31 K's & 49-46.
Big Ted Kluszewski- Cincinnati- had 2-years: 49-35 & 40-34.
Other great hitters: Stan 'the Man' Musial, Bill Dickey, Willard Marshall & the Cubs' Andy Pafko.
The best pecentage is held by Tommy Holmes of the 1945 Boston Braves. Tommy hit 28 homers and fanned only 9 times.

It is possible. He is an evolving hitter and fielder, and he doesn't strikeout that often. And if he does and he gets another AB, he is so good at adjusting he doesn't let you get the best of him again and rips one out of the yard and the ratio is almost unchanged.
At the beginning of last year Pujols was on record pace to break the single season mark until he got hurt and went on the DL for the first time ever in his career. Had he not gotten hurt and than had to re-adjust to everything he would have had more HR's than Howard and would have had less K's because he wouldn't have had to recover from an injury.

No. *Nobody* has more HR than K's - there wasn't a single player in the majors last year who did that last year (excluding a few guys with limited at-bats), and you'd have to doig a bit to find folks who managed it. While Pujols' 49-50 ratio was incredibly impressive, I think that'll be as close as he gets.

Probably not. when you have to swing that hard to generate power you are going to have strikouts. Remember even if you were to bat .400 for a season the means that you failed at the plate 60% of the time.

The guy consitantly bats at/near the top of the year in avg and hrs so I'm not really worried about the Ks.
