I don't think it's a problem with IE7 or Adobe... I get this error frequently... especially when I have two windows open with a flash player in it.
I crash everytime I go to weather dot com and use the new interactive weather maps.
Or you visit someones blog with multiple You tube video's.
I read somewhere awhile back about a law suit between Microsoft and Adobe.
I think it's Microsoft jockeying for position in the ever growing flash content player market. ( you may notice that there are more third party flash players emerging ).
If you would like to promote your own player ...well just insert some code that makes your competetors player not work properly.
Although I'm not certain about this because ever since Adobe took over Macromedia I've experienced other problems with flash that weren't present before.
You got to love that ever lovin' error that causes Adobe Reader too not release resources and cause system hangs and slowdowns.

Well a couple of thoughts, do any other programs ever do this? If they do you may have an actual hardware problem like bad ram.

You didn't say what operating system you have. If you are not fairly current it could just be a compatiblity issue with your OS.

You might also have some problem with your IE installation.
