i have no idea why he called you something if he's always flirting with u as u said. maybe he was just having a bad day, or said something he didn't mean, like it just slipped. maybe he regrets it and wants to apologize. wait a few days and then talk to him again. if he calls u a ho again just move on.
and for ur second question. I have no idea. that's just the way society is.
