It has always been the rule...
"On St. Patrick's day, EVERYONE is Irish!"
Erin Go Braugh!

There are many good reasons for drinking,
One has just entered my head.
If a man doesn't drink when he's living,
How the hell can he drink when he's dead?

Too many. St. Patrick's day is a religious feast day for the Irish catholic and a day of heritage and connection for those american irish. The people who use St. Patrick's day as an excuse to drink until they are drunk and act like fools give the day a bad reputation.

Most Irish Americans' I know stay home with family and friends on St. Patrick's day and avoid all the commercialism and foolishness promoted to sell stuff.

I am not Irish, but I was living with my best friend a few years ago, and she is VERY Irish. She was at school all day without a chance to celebrate, so while she was gone, I decorated the place in poster's, green-white-orange streamers, and I had a CD of traditional Irish music playing when she got home. She had had such a bad day, and it made her night a little better, so since then, I celegrate it. In return, though, she has to decorate for Queen Victoria's Day in May, since I am of Canadian heritage and my nickname is Victoria.

Irish or not, I am all for a night of fun!
Happy St. Paddy's Day, everyone!
Cheers!

Everybody´s Irish on St. Patrick´s Day. I celebrate it because I have Irish ancestry but I don´t know if I would still celebrate it if I weren´t Irish at all.

I DO
I DO!

St. Patrick's Day has changed over the centuries but in the same way we celebrate St. Nicholas we celebrate St. Patties Day.
If someone gives me a goat about not being Irish I tell them I am Welsh and that is close enough in my book.

Everybody gets wasted--its a party holiday just like mardi gras. No one actually knows why we have St. Patty's day, but no-matter! lolz

BTW-- The story behind the holiday:

St. Patrick was a slave in Ireland. He escaped to France(i think) but came back to Ireland a few years later as a missionary and tried to convert the people there. The shamrock was used to explain about the divine trinity, which is why it has only three leaves.

I don't know if I'm Irish. My name is Kayla and my dad told me that my name is irish. So I probably am Irish.

Have a wonderful St. Patrick's Day!

Way too many! At least this year since it fell on a Saturday.
I turned on my police scanner last night because the people across the street from me (whom the whole neighborhood considers as "Trailer Trash") Where at it again...Drinking and fighting, and just doing stupid things.
Nobody on this block ever calls the police (me included) because its fun to watch them!! And even the person next door to them IS A COP.
Back to the subject... Heck yes!! Everybody does! And excuse to party! And if you find a cutie not wearing green, excuse to pinch them. :)
