Linguists are sadistic people.
They also came up with the word stuttering.

both "lisp" and "stuttering" have the qualities of onomatopoeia, and it actually makes sense if you look at it that way.

if we called a boom noise a "splindarf",...now, see that wouldn't make any sense.
