I am talking about like when you go to someones house and their dog jumps all over you, jumps on the kitchen table, etc. I think if you have company, the animals should be put up. That's my brothers dog, a beagle in the house come on! And my moms dog was barking at my baby and she said oh he is fine well then the dog got up on the couch with my son and was barking and growling I ran over and scooped up my baby, so she finally caged the anklebiter (chiawawa) Oh don't get me started on day care people having 2 or 3 cats and dogs yuck!!! I feel better............ Your thoughts and opinions

They should be put in a safe area if they are jumping on guests. However about the cats I have 3. One inside 2 outside. My inside cat runs at the site of any other people in the house. He would not be a problem!

Someone didnt take their happy pill today did they!!! I am a childminder, and have three children of my own. I have 4 cats, a dog, three fish tanks, lobsters and snakes. I adore my animals, and yes the dog (jrt) does get excited when someone comes in. He is allowed to say hello, and then i put him in the back room, where i have a stairgate to stop him coming out. The cats, i am afraid, will do what they want when they want. If people dont like them, dont come visit me!!!

additional info - so you are assuming that us animal lovers are dirty people who dont wash their hands and dont look after their children???? Grow up, and get a life. I am a wonderful mother, my kids are happy and healthy, and they have learnt to love and respect animals, which is a very important lesson to learn.

Out of respect for guests, all wild and crazy creatures in the home should be controlled, especially around small children. If I went to a home and their animals were acting in a threatening way and the pet owners would not put the animals away, then I would ask them to and if they didn't I would just leave.

I'm with you....I had 3 big dogs, and have had 4 cats in the house (different times), and my cats were no where to be found, and my dogs were taught to sit or lay down if they were around people...it's cute for about 3 minutes,,say hi doggy,,then they should go calm themselves somewhere...

Its not really the dog's fault. It wasn't disciplined enough as a puppy and probably still isnt.
Tell the dog;s owner you dont like him/her doing that and they should control their dog.
