Steve they could work together, but I don't think the Left wants them to. They simply want a Govt where there is complete and utter Liberal Dominion. Of course this is not going to happen, but it is what they are pushing for with Democrats, and they currently own those politicians.
I had an argument with a friend about trying to work with Democrats. He said they all need to work as a team to make America better. While I agreed they should, it is not in the game plan. The Democrats simply want their way, and also want to demonize the Republicans with their allies in the Liberal media. So far this has worked well for them. So the best answer it seems is to block the Dems if they try to pass anything that will hurt our soldiers, or anything that will harm our country. Not much else can be expected.

The democrats do not want to work together, anything that is not presented by their party gets shot down without any consideration. The liberals are the idiots that ride around with bumper stickers that read "Anyone but Bush". They are the terrorists best friends. They (the terrorists)love to see all the hatred they (the libs) spew about the Americans running this Great Country.

Like tobcol said don't rely on wikepedia
it had sinbad listed as dead
the Democrat party is falling apart because they can't even agree within their own party. Hillary is making Obama look bad in a desperate attempt to look like the better choice.
Nancy Pelosi just got in a big fight with some Democrats about sitting down and chatting things out with the terrorists.
The next two years are going to be very interesting. Not necessarally good but interesting.

Only if they're willing to set their egos aside. Each of our lawmakers has his/her own agenda and it isn't always in the best interest of the American people. Obviously, a bipartisan Congress would be ideal, but it seems unrealistic. On some issues, the left and right may find common ground. But on the most controversial issues, it just ain't gonna happen.

I wish, but the problem is when two parties with differing values and ideas try to pass legislation, it's hard to get them to agree.

I believe it is possible.
I don't believe it will happen anytime soon with this current batch.
They need to get past their differences and get to doing what they were elected to do.
Not a whole hell of a lot has been done so far.

They can work together, but, it will take the encouragement of a respected leader, to do so. Have you read about Lincoln's cabinet, divided, angry, and under Lincoln's leadership, cohesive, and effective?

First off, don't take anything from wikipedia seriously, it's basically Yahoo answers, but well written. Secondly, I believe this can happen with the right people. I don't think Obama is the one though.
