I have torn both of my ACLs (knees), one in 2003 and the other in 2004. I have had the reconstruction surgery but I don't want to put too much strain on my knees. Is jogging a good idea or should I do a less stressful excersize for my knees?

I believe I would do walking instead of jogging. Maybe wear those strap on weights.

I have been running since I was a teenager and have had every related injury imaginable, but never ACL tears. Ouch! My advice is to either begin by walking 1-2 miles a day or better yet swim (no impact on your knees). You really need to speak to your doctor about this, seriously. ACL recovery takes a lot of time.

I'm no expert but if I were you, I think it's time you start to strenghten your muscles to support your knees of course. You should stretch before and after you jog and allow your muscles to feel the pull. Do this regulary. Also try squats. Of course if it seems like too much to handle then start off doing a few. Then as your legs become stronger try doing a few more.
