April is when we've gotten some of our worst blizzards. The weather is very unstable this time of year and anything can happen. Usually, just when we think the snow is done for the season, we get another round in April, but you have to remember that Colorado has a lot of climate variation and while one part of the state is having a blizzard another part is having warm and sunny weather. We saw this in the Denver area this past winter. There was a blizzard out east and whee I live was warm, dry, and sunny. The separation was less than 20 miles.

I don't know really, I live in Europe, but have friends that have lived in Colorado. I think the weather depends very much upon where in Colorado you live. In Denver I have been told that there is little snow even in midwinter. And when it comes it doesn't last very long. Closer to the mountains there is probably more snow and colder weather.

It depends on what part of Colorado you are visiting. I only know about Southern Colorado i.e. Durango, Alamosa, Pagosa Springs...they are all mountain towns and you will see some light flurries in April. We don't even try opening our summer weekend home until Memorial day weekend.

particular there'll be snow round. you will discover snow on the floor into may in the mountains. you may also see it snow for real. no longer uncommon to get a 6" snowstorm in Denver in mid April..it will melt quick and the roads clean and dry the subsequent day.
