Poor John R sounds like he has a chip on his shoulder.
It isn't nice to make these type of comments about people just because their skin colour is different.
At the same time, people should learn to laugh at these types of mild comments as I am sure that it would irritate the person making the comment.

You can't be Filipino as they are the worst ones for labelling their country as corrupt. It is a damn shame though because if it was not for the corruption it would be a very rich country and not a third world one.

It is at times a personal reaction. It depends on the person if he/she felt alluded to .... (don't shoot me)...
But for most, they hate it if they feel it as a slur to our culture as a people, as almost always it is. It really depends on the inflection, on how it is said or asked. You'll know or feel what the intention is. You'll know when it is an honest question or one with malice?

Maybe because most people have a tendency to instantly associate certain "trigger" terms and expressions to negative connotations, without first stepping back, taking a deep breath and logically analyzing the context of how the term is used.
For some people, the term oreo is a cookie, others it is a term used to describe non-white people who "aspire" to be white.

The first natural reaction is anger because the feeling of resentment, then you realize that you really can't do nothing about it anyway because the person is hiding and you don't know who they are.

People who take offense to every little word must remember the source that it came from. Nobody hiding from anybody why you looking for someone best be careful they may find you before you find them coz you always runnin your big fat lips

not really anger. i think that's a bit harsh. irritated maybe.because it's so irritating to know that there are still many of our fellowmen who are so narrow-minded. and always giving wrong premises.
