for example
If people were more lazy there would be less c02 emissions
If people were more lazy there would be less wars
If people were more lazy there would be less stress
If people were more lazy there would be less hate

what is wrong with increasing general public lazyness for those who are thus inclined, and leaving the busy people to carry on rushing around as they wish ?

Hello!

I don't know if you're familiar with Osho, but he wrote (sort of) a book titled something like A to Zen, and L was for Laziness. I no longer have it, but he talked about how Laziness is a good thing, pretty much saying the same thing you have.

EDIT: I found the quote:

Laziness:
If the whole world becomes lazy, we will have such a beautiful world with no wars, no atomic weapons, no nuclear weapons, no crime, no jails, no judges, no policemen, no presidents, no prime ministers. People will be so lazy that they won't need all this nonsense.

Just think about it some time: has any lazy person in the world ever done anything wrong? And still poor lazy people are condemned.

Lazy people have never done any harm to anybody - they cannot. They will not go to that much trouble. It is the active people who are the real problem.

Actually, the more lazy people there are, the more stress is put upon those who provide all of us with our basic needs (food, clothing, shelter, etc.) And just as many lazy people show prejudice; spout hatred; and have vile personalities as those who work.
All you're doing is trying to justify your sitting on the couch all day and doing nothing to contribute to society. Go ahead if you want to, but why should the "busy people" bother to feed, clothe and shelter you?

First, it's laziness, and perhaps you are using that as an example......

Laziness doesn't reduce CO2 emissions .... other people have to work harder to take up the slack.

Laziness doesn't reduce hatred. There are many hateful couch-potatoes.

Laziness increases stress in those taking up the slack.

Laziness increases pollution.

Laziness places a greater stress on the public health facilities, increasing diabetes and heart disease.

And it goes on and on.
