Usually, I think "for God's sake turn that off" especially when it's late at night.

When I lived in a village, we would investigate it. Now I live in a city I am desperately hoping a criminal will come and steal the car. No one in my city area (and it's a nice area) would go and help. They go off in the middle of the night and are parked too far from the owner for the owner to be able to hear. We can hear them though! They wake us almost every night. We curse the owners, and if I even find out who owns the presistent alarms, I will certainly be having a VERY strong word with them.

I've got you beat. I live in a pretty nice Suburb in New Orleans, and some Mexicans just moved in next door with a rooster.
I'm going to be eating chicken for lunch tomorrow if that thing crows again tomorrow morning.

No, I don't even look out the window to see who's car it is - thats why car alarms aren't exactly that good!

I think these days they go off so often we tend not to take any notice of them we just wish the noise would stop

I usually run away as it's me who has set it off, perks of being an opportunistic car thief.
